Balanced Receiving is the mother of Borrowing Jin
Balanced receiving of energy is critical to develop Borrowing Jin. Ultimately you will think of the torso as a ball, however, to simplify it think of it as a cylinder with a vertical axis. If you touch the cylinder off of the axis, you’ll be rolled to one side or another passively. If you’re partner or opponent rotates your body and pushes it simultaneously they are putting two energies / force vectors on your body at the same time . This will make it more difficult for you to neutralize their forces. When you balance their force on your center, then you remove the tendency for your body to be rotated in one Direction or another and simplify their attack into a single forward force. You can then receive this force into your vertical circle and return it to your opponent. This is controlled by aiming your intention directionally which allows triangulation and focusing of your force on your opponent.
