Brush Knee and Twist Step – Some details
Everything that BP Chan taught was very detail oriented. Simple movements become very complicated before they become simple again. We use various themes to refine our posture and form. The theme for today is moving from center to center to center. It is also learning how to create the shield that exists within the posture. The details are in the video so I will not repeat them , but it is important to know that when the details are in place , the posture is very stable against outside forces. When the posture is out of center those outside forces turn into internal ricochets that destabilize the body. I often refer to this as “turbulence”. It is very much like tuning an engine where the engine is smooth and stable when everything is timed correctly. When it is out of whack, then the engine will shake and vibrate and make noise. The body is much the same way and you will come to realize that smooth is powerful and ” if you miss by an inch, you missed by 10,000 miles”.
