Centers – There are more than one?!?
One of the more traumatic moments of my life was when I was told I was “out of center” and I looked down towards my navel and the spacing between my hips and feet we’re even. I looked up confused and I blurted , “I don’t know what you mean, my hips are centered ?” It was at this moment that I was given a similar demonstration to the one attached . This was just the very beginning of a very long exploration of these concepts. Understanding and observing where each joint failed, I could also observe where it did not fail. This led to becoming more conservative with my movements and linking them together in a more logical and connected fashion. Standing meditation training over a period of time will educate the conscious and unconscious mind with regard to the body’s natural function. These concepts lead to a deeper connection with my body. Moving in this fashion and within these parameters allowed me to first feel the idea of effortless power within my own body. This training also allowed me to observe a persons movements and get a very quick report on the quantity and depth of their knowledge. The concept of moving in center began to become a reality. As one starts to observe their body differently they begin to understand the feeling of openness. This awareness leads to sensitivity so that one may begin to observe ” the movement within the stillness ” … I finally got a “glimpse of the tail ” And I pursued the Ox .
