One characteristic of BP Chan’s martial arts is the ability to recover from losing one’s center. All of his arts have some exercise for dealing with this issue. The following example has me utilizing a skill trained in his single hand fixed foot push hands method. When Aaron attempts to pull me out of the center by grasping my upper arm, I simply follow him allowing him to have my arm. I coil into the ground as he pulls making him pull against my Crownpoint. When these conditions are in place he will pull and compress my forward foot. This results in stabilizing my structure/root as well as building Jin in the front leg. I follow his pull until he hits the wall by stretching my tissue. I then press the front foot and uncoil naturally to the right. This action spools him in on my arm as well as my body putting his arm into a lock that is reliant on his own grip. This is an example of giving up my self to follow others.
