Exploring centers – Posture testing to understand Posture
All martial arts have postures. Postures are like castles in that they provide a degree of safety based on their structure. Standing meditation teaches you a tremendous amount about structure. Even if a person just stood in stance totally incorrectly but trained daily , pain and comfort would seek to enlighten them. Slight adjustments in the Posture will begin to become present. Muscles will fatigue and release on their own. Muscles will start to shake and burn. Let the heat from the fire soften your tissue just as stew meat softens slowly over time . Gradually overtime you will notice how spirit or lack there of affects a posture. Working with a knowledgeable teacher can help guide one to the comfortable places faster and can also point out the ramifications of these defects at the same time. The end result of these efforts is a very connected and aware practitioner. When you start to pay attention to your own defects you will soon notice them in others. These defects will act as invitations to your energy. When your awareness resides in each of your joints , mindful of their centeredness, then your body will be like a spiderweb in which any attempt to defect one part of it will alert all of the other parts. When these parts are all in place there will be no where to enter .
