Releasing the joints in the posture “Beware the Fist Under the Elbow”
The following example has me pointing out the ramifications of stiff or improperly placed joints in the posture ” Beware the Fist Under the Elbow”. A prior video had me discussing the shoulder/armpit joint spacing . The body is linked together so when one part is out of center the entire Posture is out of center. Traditional training puts great emphasis on the position and release of the joints. This knowledge is a double edged sword in that it represents both Yin and Yang. The Application of the principal “know your self to know others and in 10,000 battles you will be victorious” is apparent in this type of training. When you understand where your joint belongs and how it functions effectively, you also know the converse. How it does NOT work effectively in various positions. The result of this training is that one increases the mindfulness of all of their joints. This would be like hiring a Sentry to guard all of your joints. Each joint has its own guard and any attempt to defect a joint will be dealt with rapidly by the “guard of the joint”. The result is that the body becomes like a spiderweb with a spider sitting in each joint thus training and increasing one’s listening skill ( Ting Jin).
