Once one has tightened up their movements mechanically to where they are not overturning and they are defining their center axis , then they can put their attention to the qualities of their winding. When transitioning from center to center, The movement resonates back and forth between active and passive. The posture is wound up , then released. The winding is active however it is limited to the pinky side of the hand. That aspect combined with the rising Jin make it difficult for your opponent to utilize your active tendons against you. Once they are released and become a Yin force , then they naturally oppose Yang force effortlessly. This should be explored thoroughly in two person training. When we learn to move from center to center, it is much like crossing the river by stepping safely on the stones. This training makes walking on the stones habitual and prevents the practitioner from moving outside of their safe environment , giving their opponent an opportunity to attack. This is the training of moving in center and moving with awareness. This is the application of know your self to know others and in 10,000 battles you will be victorious “.
