
Silk Reeling to train Ting Jin and Dong Jin
Silk Reeling involves moving the body where it is structurally sound in an integrated fashion , stretching the tissue and releasing the tissue. Winding the tissue and unwinding the tissue. The concept that there are sweet spots in our structure that allow us to be neutral is something that is difficult to believe until one experiences it. When the body is released then energy entering into the vessel is directed downward by our intent. It can go down without the assistance of my intention simply by being very open. The Silk Reeling is a study of “functional range of movement” . Learning to move within the functional range creates an effect similar to putting on body armor. Your opponent cannot find a way into your structure . Overtime , the training will refine one’s movement in three dimensions. The interesting thing about this is that once you understand and close up your holes in your structure, your understanding of the ramifications of having those holes becomes clear. This exercise develops one’s listening energy /Ting Jin and ones comprehending energy/ Dong Jin . This is the application of the principal “know your self to know others and in 10,000 battles you will be victorious”
