Taijiquan’s Ward Off vs a Tackle Attack


This is an example of how to use Taijiquan ‘s Ward Off against a tackle . The method is to align your forward arm across your opponent’s collar bone and receive his force . Your opponent will essentially run into a wedge. ***WARNING *** this has been tested and it can easily break a collar bone . Testing should be very very light and gradually increase until one is convinced of the method and thankful for my warning . The receiver must raise the crown, sink the shoulder, drop the elbow, and release dynamically on impact . Bu Dui, Bu Ding , don’t resist, don’t disconnect .
