Tai Chi Ruler System – Circling the Ruler to Tonify or Detox

One of the unique elements of the Tai Chi Ruler system is the ability to Detox the body or Tonify depending on the condition. BP Chan used to say ” clean out your house before you move in the furniture”. The following example shows the basic circling from a standing position from the side so that one may see the direction of the circles. They are not actually circles they are elliptical. An ellipse is football shaped and has a long axis and a short axis. When detoxing the long axis points downward at 45°. When Tonifying the long axis points upward at 45° off of the horizon. The body opens and closes as we mobilize our Qi. The basic Neigong/ internal work is reinforced with some external testing of power. I cannot press my hands down with power before sinking my Qi to my feet. This is a basic level. The actions of the Tai Chi Ruler endeavor to build a Dan Tian as well as to circulate blood and Qi in a simple and efficient manner. A higher level interpretation would have me sinking my Qi to my Dan Tian before opening. This can easily be tested while sitting on a wall or a chair with one’s feet off the ground. The Tai Chi Ruler System is a complete system of Gong Fa/ Methods of training Skill/achievement. It has no forms and it’s simple actions combined the essence of seated meditation, moving meditation, silk reeling, Qigong, Waigong , Neigong and Song Gong . The “rocker” is a perfect example. I may hobble stiffly out of bed after a long day of work or training and simply rocking back-and-forth on each side for eight breaths loosens up my body, circulates my Qi and my Blood and could be the only thing I have time to do on a certain day however I have achieved my goals quickly and simply.
