THE TAI CHI POINT

THE TAI CHI POINT
All movement in Taijiquan is driven by the turning of the waist. BP Chan used to say
” it’s easy ; turn to the left, turn to the right “. i want to follow the incoming force with my waist turn ( open the door) causing the opponents force to ” fall into emptiness “. i bring my Ward Off palm under and upward adhering to my opponent’s wrist and coil with the waist turn from a palm in position to a palm down position. These actions comprise Ward Off and Rollback . i want to feel my own centrifugal force throwing my Ward Off outward without any resistance in the arm. No matter how slow you turn, you must always release and yield to your own centrifugal force . The combined turning of the palm with the centrifugal force rotating around a still axis /spine will divert and hold the incoming force away while positioning your palm from under the opponent’s wrist crease to over his wrist crease. This action will cause a downward resistance ( response to my upward ward off) that can be followed by my now top position palm to my Kua ( gravitational center) adding to my opponent’s force ( Using 4 OZ to topple 1000 llbs.)and unbalancing him. My opponent is temporarily powerless in his state of imbalance . When my opponent’s force (yang) expends and before it changes/attempts recentering ( converts to Yin ) , this is the Tai Chi Point. Tai Chi is the point were Yin changes to Yang or Yang to Yin . The mathematical expression of Tai Chi could be 10 plus (Yang) negative 10 (Yin) = 0 …zero force ! This is the precise point were attack will have the highest probability of success . This is the Tai Chi Point .
