'' FA JIN '' ''️ 🇨🇳
A very serious mistake to avoid among the practitioners of many martial arts concerning the emission of force.
It's not just harmful for joints, it's a completely wrong practice and training method all by itself.
Grand Master Feng Zhiqiang, one of the greatest masters of the Chen-style Taiji Quan, gives an explanation of what we've been supporting for decades.
We’re talking about the ‘Fa jin’ (or ‘Fa li’) of Chinese disciplines, very often the emission quality is infected by an excessive body “shaking”.
Today, this real 'vice', unfortunately, is so widespread among practitioners of Taiji Chen style, that we have seen it imitating, with song intent, by some masters of other styles.
The ‘dou jin’ (the shaking force) is part of the sought-after skill in TAIJIQUAN, but it has little to do with excessive movement, with the apparent shaking. This kind of exhibitionistic attitude, which has nothing to do with the martial appearance, tends most often to hide ''the inability to emit and actually vibrate the unified elastic force'', which should instead be ''focused in a single point and not dispersed in the body'' .
Not to mention the significant negative effects from the point of view of health.
To understand what we are talking about it is therefore necessary to reflect on some precious considerations that the Great Master Feng Zhiqiang (1928-2012) made on this topic.
« we need to understand the so-called "force that shakes" ( dou jin ).
This type of force is like a deep earthquake capable of destroying everything it meets in its path.
The strength we are talking about is "focused on one spot and not scattered all over the body".
In recent years, many practitioners have shown a lot of shaking in emitting force, as if this was the supreme manifestation of 'do there'.
This phenomenon was not present when I was learning Taiji Quan.
Then it was believed that "the skill was better, the lesser the shaking should be".
In fact, back when we learned Taiji Quan from Chen Fake, body shaking in the 'fa there' was recognized as the "biggest taboo" to avoid.
